I realized that I was not able to blog for a YEAR. Now looking back at those 12 months, here are some few updates..

After that last post about the famous ONDOY, I've been busy with trainings concerning my Profession. I did volunteer a bit for Red Cross to help the Ondoy victims. I've been a bum for 3 more months then I got accepted as a nurse trainee. I did work hard and after few months, I eventually became a staff nurse. Until now, I'm still working there.

Ever since I started working, I felt like I've been sluggish. I still manage to hang out with my family and friends but I spend most of my time sleeping and taking rest at home, which is not who I am. I've been close to temptations and married to stress. Life, as it is, became more complicated. You ask if I'm happy with the job? I can't give you the definite answer. But if you ask if I hate it? I'd say no.

Family life had been different. My dad and brother came home from abroad for good. It feels good that we are almost complete here at home, but I guess the many years of being apart affects the reationship. But we are, generally happy.

Love? I still have them, those guys who you can call 'suitors', but .. yes, BUTS. And I've had this 'something-that-maybe-doesn't-mean-anything' with someone. It ended just before it started. No regrets, somehow glad it happened.

Each day has a blessing. The day itself is. Those 12 months were. But looking back, I know and feel that something's lacking.

The past 12 months had been diverse. Life outside the academe, as I've said, is way more complicated. But that's just the way it is, we have to live with it. Be thankful for each day, for another year. Live life, love life.

Now what?
Thursday, July 30, 2009

I have been consistently complaining about my monotony, about getting tired of being a bum.
Last June, I was training on a certain call center in Ortigas. But on my 4th night, I quit because I had to attend an important event. But no regrets at all, besides, we heard bad stuffs about that company.

Since that training, I’ve been receiving calls from different call centers. Apparently my friends have been referring me but I’ve been ignoring those calls. I chose to just remain at home, watching TV, surfing the net, spending time with friends, attending church and enjoying my vacation. And just last Saturday, the long wait for the Board Exam result is over. And I’m delighted with the result.

Just this morning, I received another call from a call center. And I passed the initial (phone) interview. Tssss.. Although my English is poor. And I’m scheduled for another exam. But I’ve decided not to go to their office in Libis tomorrow. Why?
First, my mom, sister and I have plans on visiting our relatives in Pampanga tomorrow. And I’ve been dying to smell fresh air. Second reason is laziness. Oo, tinatamad pa rin akong mag-apply! And third is I’m still in doubt if what do I really want to do with my life.

Last month, I told myself na if I get hired in a call center, I would grab it, work there for months. Then try my luck sa Nursing after earning money sa Call center industry. But now na RN na ko, parang I suddenly changed my mind. I have goals and plans in my life na of course, I want to achieve. And I don’t want to waste time. But I am still confused if where to start.

Masteral? Trainings? NCLEX, IELTS etc? Apply?
And sa totoo lang, I’m hell scared. Of what? Of working! That would be my first time to be fully ‘independent’ and just the thought of it scares the hell out of me. I know kaya ko yun, but I know that it will be awfully difficult for me.
Nakakagana isipin ang mga pangarap mo, pero pag tinamaan ka na ng katamaran, ay peste. Hehe.

As of now, asikasuhin ko muna oath taking. Then after that, yun na.

Any advices from you guys? Lalo yung mga nasa workforce na?

Rejections, Acceptance = REAL LIFE
Friday, June 19, 2009

Tuesday – 06/16/09
3 rejections

Wednesday – 06/17/09
Acceptance.

Thursday – 06/18/09
Another rejection.

Friday – 06/19/09

When I woke up this morning, I still felt terrible. And when I opened my plurk account, this is the first plurk that I read from my plurk friend warden:

“Keep trying, Even if you failed today it does not mean you will fail tomorrow or the day after that.”

My mom asked me this morning if I will quit already. And I remembered what I always told myself and everyone, “Quitters are for losers, and I’m not one.”

Some other things I learned these past few days:

Life is indeed difficult, real life is different from what we experience inside the walls of our universities. You must have enough guts to face it.

And another thing is, sometimes, to get what you want, you really have to tell a lie.

Today...

I’m officially a BUM for Photobucket days.
All I do is sleep, wake up, gobble everything in our refrigeratorPhotobucket,
surf the net, movie/tv series (GG) marathon,
go out, go to church, go homePhotobucket, eat again, watch tv, sleep.

I can actually get use to this life, or not?
So for how long will I be a B-U-M? 1 more week? A month? 2 months?
Or should I go find a job? What job? Where? How?
Errr.http://emo.huhiho.com

I know this girl who is really annoying me.
I wonder what her problem is. What’s wrong with you?
http://emo.huhiho.com
You know that I (we) hate you but you still keep on texting and whatever.
Even bothered to add me up on your new account?
Duh, I don’t even consider you as my friend.
I’m glad school is over and I’m free not to see your pretending face.
Anyhoe, won’t make you big a deal,
I’m glad I don’t have to deal with you everyday anymore.

Someone else is infuriating me but I won’t elaborate. =)

I started to like Facebook, just today. But I still don’t love it.
I now have 73 friends there. *applause*. And I have like a hundred more requests.
It’s frustrating.

Yesterday, I invited my friend Julie to watch a movie in gateway.
But unluckily, we didn’t have a mutual decision of what movie to watch.
So she ended up in cinema 2 watching Drag me to Hell
while I was in cinema 8 watching Angels and Demons.
Funny.

MULTIPLE CHOICE
Sunday, March 15, 2009

Multiple choice ang binigay ng Diyos sa
atin.
Mamimili ka na lang: buhay
o kamatayan, pagpapala o sumpa. Binigay
pa
nya ang
key to
correction. Kung magkamali ka pa ng pagpili, labis na
ka-mangmangan na
yan.

That statement lingered on my mind since it was stated by our church
Pastor this afternoon. I don’t need to elaborate, it’s self-explanatory. I
just
want to share it with you guys.

Shoot for the Moon.
Saturday, February 07, 2009

Earlier, while having dinner and watching the television, I said “Hindi man lang nya natupad pangarap ng tatay nya”. Then my mom said, “ako kaya, matupad?”, I would usually answer her with “don’t worry mom, ako tutupad sa pangarap mo”. Pero kanina, I just remained silent.

If I would stare at my dream checklist, 80% of it is for my parents. I constantly had a lucid view of what I would like to attain, for myself and for my family. Hindi kami isang kahig isang tuka, we can eat 4 times a day, study in private schools, buy our desires and needs. Pero syempre, it’s not wrong naman to dream big right? Shoot for the moon, so when you fall, you would still land on the stars.

But lately, I’ve been vague about a lot of things, indecisive or scared. Few months from now, I will be graduating BSN. Then after that, what? Will I pass the board exams? If I fail, it would break my heart to let down my parents. If I pass, where will I go? I want to achieve great things and do a lot of things. But the question is, how?

I don’t desire for a fairy tale life; I just want a better life for my loved ones.

Welcome 2009!
Friday, December 26, 2008

Few days na lang, New Year’s Eve na. It’s actually my favorite National Event. Kasi you get to have fun and celebrate with everyone. Nakikita mo pa yung mga neighbors mong one whole year mo ding hindi nakita. Hehe. And the loud noise, colorful and stunning fireworks everywhere makes it more exciting.
Plus the fact na mas madaming handa pag New Year. HAHA.

It’s not so obvious na I’m excited sa 2009.

Kasi I already bought a planner weeks ago. It’s the Cosmopolitan Date Book.

The first half of my 2009 would be all about the upcoming Board Exam. And the next half? Well, it depends on the result of the first half, I guess.

Let’s all welcome 2009 with a BANG!
And one more thing, I'll be turning TWENTeen this JUNE 2009. OMG!

Zendagi Migzara
Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Zendagi Migzara. Life goes on.

I was at page 236, I closed the book and stared at our TV set. I wiped my tears. I looked at the clock; it said 3:30pm. I didn’t desire to go on, because for me, that page contained the ending of the story. I gazed at the book cover, two boys, arms around the shoulders of each other. I wanted to stop reading, because there is no more hope for the ending that I wanted; Hassan is gone.

But I opened the book, and continued reading, 165 more pages to go. I closed the book once again and glimpsed at the clock, it read 5:30pm. I completed reading the book.

After several days, I finally finished reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I borrowed the book from a friend, thanks Bjane!

It’s an astonishing book, really. Now I want to see the movie.

It changed the way I look at Afghanistan. Before, when I hear “Afghanistan” or “Afghans”, I would think of terrorists, war, and heartless people. I would even sometimes raise my eyebrow. Now, I was able to understand the situation better, the Roussi, the Taliban, etc.

And now, the way I feel about Afghanistan also changed. I feel sympathy to those Afghans who have been struggling over the years to triumph over the forces of violence. I feel sorry for the innocent ones.
They say that, there are a lot of children in Afghanistan, but little childhood.

We all make mistakes; it’s in our nature, because we are just humans. What matters is what we do after we apprehend our mistakes. It’s how we deal with the consequences.

A man who has no conscience, no goodness, does not suffer. -Rahim Khan

When we commit a huge slip-up, and feel guilty for it, that guilt will haunt us. It will make us suffer. And that suffer will only come to an end until we face it. Until we deal with our mistake.

In my case, I was able to commit a mistake, a mistake that haunts me up to now. I don’t know how to face it, I can’t. And the consequences? I’ll deal with them when I come face to face with it.

Basta, I can’t describe the feeling while reading the book. It portrayed family, friendships, courage, cowardice, shame, guilt, love, betrayal, and redemption. It is moving and heartbreaking. I love it.

How seem less seemed love and then came trouble.

For you, a thousand times over.
